Due to COVID-19, Sumer Spin 2020 & 2021 is cancelled.
Summer Spin, founded in 2010, is a week long summer color guard intensive.
Students spend time together each day in team building exercises with other members of their home team. Students attending the camp solo or in small groups are paired with others from similar school backgrounds. In addition to team building, students who are in leadership positions in their home guards are invited to experience our Leadership Track, which offers specialized instruction and help for reducing drama and building up their peers. All students will experience our Team Building classes as well as personal instruction on flag and dance. Non-beginner students are also given instruction on weapon.
Directors interested in accompanying their team or attending on their own to gain new ideas and build their skills are welcome to attend our Director's Track for the week. Director's Track attendees have the ability to audit all courses and receive instruction from the staff. They do not perform with the students, but they are welcome to learn all the choreography to be able to reuse it in their own programs.
The camp boasts an experienced Faculty who lead ability-based classes in flag, weapon, dance, and performance. Faculty members collaborate together throughout the year, and are constantly working to improve both Summer Spin and the color guard activity in general.
